Warm Day
Let's get this started with a little poem I wrote on what "Young me"(I say as if I am centuries old) would fight till death to declare was the hottest day on the planet earth.
Being a person who has lived in a relatively mild climate-ed (is that even a word?) place forever( I again say as if that's a long time) I can't stand heat.
Many people love the summer and to that I say," to each their own."
No summer has just never been my thing from excessive sweating, to ugly heat rashes, to frizzy, uncontrollable hair due to the humidity; it's safe to say summer (sigh) has never found a loving home in me.
Honestly, if "young me" experienced the summers of today (phew); a melted human might have had to been dealt with.
Any who enjoy; if nothing else another's suffering due to a disgustingly warm day.

Warm,
warm it's so hot
My
ice-cream is melting down
Tan
darker than an espresso
Popsicles a
puddle on the ground
Taking
a shower twice a day
Three
if I dare go out
Sticky,
smelly sweat plastered on my skin
Can't
even raise my arms when I shout
Huffing
and puffing if I walk anywhere
Baking
like a potato in the car
ACs
and fans blast air so cold
They
are the new reasons for war
Friends
are pushed away
Physical
contact is abhorred
It's
the season of frenemy making
With
that we will never be bored
The
sun is beating down on our backs
Draining
any energy we hold
Every
time is a great time to nod off
On
the bus, in class a new era of sleep we behold
The
ozone's stopped working,
The
ice caps are melting
And
our beaches are getting swallowed up
The
countries are sinking and I'm thinking
What
did I buy this swim suit for?
The
beach is non-existent, the pool over crowded,
I
wanna swim not hit someone's head
The
apartments are many, the forest is offended
Now
the trees don’t offer their shade
I wanna
stay in cause its bloody hot outside
"but
you need to get some sun" mom said
There
are people everywhere and I'm getting annoyed
Doesn't
help that I'm on my period
This
life with global warming has taken its toll
People
fainting left and right, a mirage outside my home
Warm,
so warm , its too hot
My
ice-cream is melting before it even hits the plate
Warm,
too warm
Honestly,
what is this heated fate?
